What a story!
I grew up using mercury thermometers and my mom was a nurse. I can remember breaking one as a child and how carefully my mom picked up the mercury and disposed of it. The Quicksilver Mess

Good grief! I just take it for granted that EVERYONE knows it's dangerous, but that just goes to show how much I know. Sad and scary - I hadn't heard about this, either. Next Vegas trip: April 22-25, 2010!
