Esta pedazo de mierda TV here is on its way out. You have to warm the damn thing up for like 15 minutes because you only get a solid line when it has been off
awhile.
Any recommendations for a good TV? |

We have a 46" samsung HDTV that is just wonderful! Actually both tv's and my computer monitor are samsung and have great pictures and never gave us a
moments problem.
Walmart is supposed to have a huge tv sale starting up around now. What are you looking for in a tv? size, etc |

DH just measured it (the TV) and it's looking like about 42 inches. I think the sales should get better just before Christmas, but I'm gonna head
toward the Mart today and check the TV section out. I have never had a problem with Samsung either. We have an old TV from like 1990 that's still going
strong.

I have heard and read that VIZIO offers more bang for the buck. I am partial to Sony. Common sense is not found at the bottom of a purse. |

There are VIZIO TVs on sale at the Mart from the circular, but I've never heard of VIZIO until now.

On the other hand, we have a POS RCA HDTV in the living room (my DH's pride and joy, and the bane of my existence - I hate than damn thing!). I will never let him get another RCA...there are too many other good TV brands out there. My in-laws have a VIZIO, too, and they love it. Next Vegas trip: April 22-25, 2010!

HM - just curious why you hate the RCA? Not a good picture - too many bells and whistles?
We have an Westinghouse which gives me no trouble. My husband actually picked it up at a Black Friday early sale. He researched a few brands in advance, then I went to one of those websites that tells you what sales will be happening (like www.blackfriday.info) He went to Best Buy, and picked out two different models & called me at home - I googled reviews and picked the one with the best reviews. Sounds like alot of work? We saved a couple hundred bucks and got a set we really like. Plus my husband got to stand in line at 4:30 am.

Have you considered Costco? They used to stand behind the warranty. Don't know if they still do. They seem to on
everything else if there's a problem.

I have a 1988 Curtis Mathis. They have been out of business for years. The set still works like a charm. Has a nice wood cabinet. Boy is that a old concept
huh? I will replace it when it goes down, but for now it's great.
I do have a new 32" Samsung flat panel hdtv in the family room. I like it a lot. Nice picture. Several people that have been here tell me how nice the picture is.

I have a sharp aquos which I love. The picture is wonderful
Vizio has been the number one seller in the U.S. for a couple of years at least. I have talked to several people that love their Vizio Sets. The price seems to be unbeatable too. |

We just got an LG Plasma, we ended up with the 42" for the same price as the 37". We don't have high definition and the tv room is dark. So
plasma makes the most sense for us. It was under $700 Canadian, which seems like a good price. I'm not a technogeek like Bob is. Looks fine to me. Beats
the hell out of the old tv.

Vizio is amazing, trust me. My brother's monitor is a 32 Vizio and it is fantastic.

Kestral, it has a LOT of bells and whistles that NO ONE - not even DH, who is TV smart and electronics smart - is ever able to figure out completely. We had an RCA before he got this 52" one for the living room, and THAT one had the issues that Blonde has; people with odd colors for their faces for the most part. This new one just has too much crap to be useful to anyone but a rocket scientist. How 'bout just getting a TV that works as a TV? What's wrong with that? Forgive me, but I just hate that TV. Next Vegas trip: April 22-25, 2010!
