Our Thanksgiving planing started last Sunday. We have Thanksgiving every year with some great friends of ours. We being doing this the last 10 years. They have no family here in Nashville and either do we. So we jsut decided we would get together every year and i glad we have.

My brother and his wife and son are joing us this year so that is special. And of course, all my kids are all coming home for the whole week so it should be fun week.

Anyway here are our plans for the Thanksgiving weekend:l

Thursday - fried and oven baked turkey, fried pickles and the normal Thanksgiving side dishes and lot of desserts. I could go into a lot of detai but it's the usual stuff.
- Bingo: not you normal bingo and we do have prizes. Some prizes are goofy and some are great. So you just don't know what you are going to get
- Pool tournament
- Dart tournament
- .25 100 square bet on the Dallas game
- Jello Shots, regular shots , beer, martinis all day

Friday - shopping in the morning or all day for soem people.
- guys outdoor Football watching (we have a big outdoor TV screen)
- Shrimp/Crap boil - just bought a 80 quart pot for the occasion.
- At night outdoor golf: "hole in one" contest in the back yard. I bought some lighted golf balls (they blink). We have prizes for the closest to the hole.
- Poker tournament
- Miss Cleo: my SIL dresses up and tells your fortune with Tarot Cards and she is good at.
- Jello Shots, regular shots , beer, martinis

Saturday - Sausage/bratswurst making day
- This always seems to be an all day event. All the adults will be making them but not sure how many kids will participate. We have these special Italian Sausage shirts we wear while making the sausages. We also smoke cigars and drink all day. What the drinking and smoking has to do with sausage making - who knows. But it makes it fun and why it takes us all day.

Sunday - Titans football game.
- Yes we are terrible this year but the tailgate party is always fun. My son and his new bride will use our tickets and a lot of us will just sit under the tent and watch the game at the stadium. Of course we will bring a big batch of our home made bratwurst and italian sausages to add to the tailgate food.


We tend to have a blast all weekend. We tend to make it very entertaining for the kids because we were all tired of the old family boring traditional Thanksgiving for years. While we mix in some traditional Thanksgiving, we think we make it entertaining. Heck the kids
even love the bingo. My wife plays the role of Vanna White during the game and presents the winners with their prizes. She makes a big deal out of every present no matter how good or bad the present is. One year we thought we would forgo bingo and the kids were bummed so we brought it back.

That's true Jack but....
We would rather have too much planned then too little. Odds are we may not get to it all or be replaced with something else.
