This will be a summarized TR as my Word application is somehow corrupted and I can't pull up the document to finish the report.
Drove to Biloxi solo as a birthday girft from Mrs flyguy, who worried all the way (did keep her informed via cell). Starting time for the 550 mile drive was dictated by a desire to eat at one special place in Marannia, Fl where they serve old fashinoned southern food. Bought a dog toy for the new puppy in the same town.
Arrived in Biloxi about 3:30 CST and had a quick check in at the Beau Rivage for two nights comped and one at casino rate. The nice lady gave me a 21st floor room that overlooked the Gulf of Mexico, Hard Rock and the Beau pool. Very nice views the whole time I was there. There was a bit of heat haze (record heat one day) but you could see for many miles. After dumping the bag and my bottle of rum I headed down to the casino (funny how you travel much lighter without a female along
) The first stop was the high limit room where I played
my $90 freeplay and another hundred on a $10 Pin Ball slot. I was playing one credit and then two credits and you know I hit the Pin Ball bonus when I had the
once credit bet.
Well, I figured I might get 25, 60 or even 80 credits
on that ball, but NO! It landed in the 10 credit spot, so I cashed out $170 dollars and walked away miffied.
That "win" set the tone for the afternoon and evening as I bounced from 50 cent, dollar and penny machines with little to show for my play. Finally I played a dollar Triple Stars slot and hit it for a $480 win. Sure needed that win as I had only brought $700 cash for food and gambling. That brought me up a slight bit and I stopped to have a snack and a sample of that rum with coke. Went to bed early, about 10 and watched some TV and read.
The morning came early and I was using the exercise facility about 6. After a quick shower, I hit the casino floor as I like this time best. The place was quiet as I sipped my coffee and Baileys and played a bit of quarter JOB VP while chatting with the bar tender. (lousy paytables so happy to break even) Later I tried some new penny machines and some quarter slots and had several small wins of 20 to 50 dollars. My bankroll gradually grew but I grew tired and drove over to the next small town of Ocean Springs to gas up the car and look around for changes since the last trip. There were some significant ones as the highway that Hurricane Katrina washed over had been completly resurfaced and some new buildings erected. Still you can see many damaged buildings and just some slabs in spots.
Back at the Beau I parked the car and it stayed in that spot the rest of the trip.
No camera with me Blonde. Just another thing to carry around.
Afer playing a bit at the Beau I walked over to the Hard Rock and looked at their collectables while waiting for the buffet to open. Tried to play a slot but the machine didn't recognize my card. No wonder I was using the Vegas one, so off to the slot club to collect a new one. Tried the dollar VP as they had a 9-6 JOB game but lost some $40 on that.I then played a machine I used to love at the Beau (they got rid of them) that I called my ATM as I always won on it. It is called a Silver Stars and I always seemed to hit that combination for 650 credits. The record remains intact. So after cashing out I treked over to the buffet and found it was opening soon and that on Wednesdays you could eat for $5.99 plus tax if you were a club member. There were about 8 military people from Keesler AFB in the line who were there for some sort of special luncheon and we chatted some about USAF things until pigout time arrived. I have trouble believing how much I ate. I tried almost everything and didn't leave a scrap on my plate. It must be the salt air and the workout but I waddled back to the Beau and found a Let It Ride table. The cocktail service was good and I don't think I had trouble getting drinks the whole visit there.
I must have played for 3 hours or more and kept getting small wins but no super ones like 4 OAK or a straight flush. It was up and down most of the time and people came and left while the dealer and I had a good conversation going about his job, the local area and other gamblers. He had some funny stories! Finally I got ahead some $60 and decided to quit then. I then made my way to the $10 shop in the mall area. They advertise everything in the store goes for $10 and Mrs flyguy wanted to get some glass wine stoppers to match ones she bought earlier. Alas, they didn't have the right ones. So my duty done there, I strolled back to the casino and attacked the slots again.
I had another $90 freeplay this day and used it in the high limit rom. The Pin Ball I played the day before wouldn't accept my pin so I chose another $5 Pin Ball and played until I got the bonus. Four balls this time but still not a super big win. It coughed up 80 credits so minus my hundred extra dollars I gained $300 +. Leaving there I played various penny and quarter slots with more losing than winning. Later in the room I counted my cash and had a bit over $1200 so I felt pretty good about the trip as far as gambling goes. So I stashed away a thousand and after a rum and coke I went back down to play some penny and nickle slots I didn't understand. Of course I didn't do well. On a side note I didn't drink much this trip as I only had 5 drinks on the casino floor and half a small bottle of rum from my room over three days. I guess having a woman around makes you drink more??
Again I went to bed early as the only excitement was the 20 somethings at Coast
club (ladies night so they drink free) and I didn't fit that demographic.
The next morning I did the usual exercise routine early and made my way to the casino after the three S's. I had my coffee and Baileys from a CW and played a nickle slot for $20. After the first spin I read the rules and learned that you could not win the bonus unless you played max coin of 90 nickles. No wonder these machines were always unused! So I cranked it up to 90 credits and on the second spin hit the bounus! Wahoo! I watched as a light climbed a ladder showing how many nickles I had won. It started at 300, then went to 600 and then to some other number in the low thousands and finally ended up at 9,750 nickles. It could have gone to 30,000+ or even !00,000+ coins but I was happy. Do you know how long it takes for the slot to add 9,750 credits to your account? I didn't mind waiting and finally cashed out $501 from a $20 investment. I wish my stocks did so well! I also won $150 on a 50 cent slot. Back to the room to add some more to my take home stash. I had over $1500 at this time and should have quit then and headed for the pool. After all it was 96 that day which tied a record for 18 June. I did wander out to the pool to watch the guys setting up for the weekly Tiki pool party that night. (One trip I was told that about 2,000 young ones partied around the pool.) They have loud music (that ends at midnight) and scantily clad dancers on floats in the pool. Lots of young people end up mingling about seaching for the same thing
My points had added up quckly and I visited the slot club to see if I had any comps. I did secure a buffet for lunch and a meal in their 24/7 Terrace cafe for the next morning. I didn't ask for a room comp as I didn't feel I had given them that much play. Then I made my way to the buffet and again stuffed myself. This was my first buffet there after a dozen trips or so. Mrs flyguy usually doesn't like buffets as she eats very little and would rather order from a menu. Some of the food was a bit spicy but I tried many dishes and finished with ice cream and bread pudding covered with sauce. Again too much food for me but clean plates for the servers to collect..
I opted to try to increase my winnings but proceeded to lose lose lose that afternoon and night. I tried a Goldfish machine since Blonde likes them so much. A nice woman in her 30's explained it all to me. She kept hitting all those bonus fish and can things but didn't get Goldie to come down. After a while she told me she was from Akron and her flight back had been delayed from 9 that morning and wouldn't leave before 11PM. I thought about offering her the use of my room to freshen up and maybe nap but then the thought that Mrs flyguy might call the room
squashed that good deed thinking. The Goldfish slots were fun but finally I lost
my $20. So I bounced around from slot to slot until I had lost back about $500 before calling a halt to the bleeding. I decided to leave very early and set up
a wakeup call for 2:30 but awoke at 1:30 and showered and shaved before having a very good cheeseburger for breakfast. The Cafe was loaded with survivors of
the Tiki
pool party. Afer eating, I loaded my few things in the car and checked out. The drive back was uneventful except for seeing a strange sort of accident shortly after it happened. An SUV was off the right side of the interstae in the woods and a small sedan had a bent nose on the left side shoulder. A highway patrol car was pulling up when I passed so I didn't stop. Oh and a very lucky squirrel cheated death when it ran across the highway and passed behind my right front wheel and escaped the rear wheel. I looked back and saw him scampering off the road into the weeds. I bet he had a hair raising tale to tell his squirel buddies that day!
I made it home in tiime to relieve Mrs flyguy of doggie care duties so she could go visit a friend that afternoon. Did get tons of kisses from the four footed one. The end result cashwise was $1037 brought home so the trip was paid for by the Beau Rivage with a few bucks left over for me.
I know this isn't a flashy TR but my PC isn't cooperating today.
