Just had to get this off my mind this am. Sorry about the rant

I'm tired of the cold. I do not live in Wi, SD, ND, or Minn. So to everyone to the north of me, I'm sorry about the
wind chill that has came in and stayed. I live in Ne. Right now it is 3F and wind chill -18F. I know some place are colder than that. My brother left today
for Eau Claire, WI. He hates the cold. He went there for work. He works at Menards here in NE. Menards is based out of WI.

When I saw the news this morning, I wondered about every one of you north of the Mason-Dixon line. Here in the
outskirts of San Antonio (where the wild things are), we are in the upper 20's at night and high in the mid 50's with winds during the days. For us,
that's pretty chilly.
The news people talking about a high of 10 degrees in NYC made me wonder how much colder it is up in Canada right now. You guys must be freezing your patooties off! Is everyone staying warm? I'm hoping for no power losses for any of you. Everyone take care!

Understand your feelings. We lived in Nebraska for over 19 years. We are now in Sun Prairie, WI and here is the warning just
issued:
A wind chill warning remains in effect from 6 pm this evening to 12 pm cst Friday. An arctic high will push into the dakotas tonight, sending very cold air south into the great lakes. This cold air will remain in place for the rest of the week. Air temperatures expected tonight through Thursday night are the coldest observed over southern wisconsin in 13 years. Low temperatures tonight are expected to drop into the low 20s below zero over much of south central Wisconsin, around 18 below over southeast Wisconsin, and around 13 below near the lake. Gusty northwest winds between 10 to 20 mph will produce dangerous wind chill values of 35 to 45 below.
The only good thing is I am in Winter Haven, FL and they are going through a cold spell right now where it is 67 degrees (brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr). Unfortunately, my business here is over tomorrow and I will be flying back tomorrow afternoon. Well, it has been nice while it has lasted. |

The weather reports have been miserable for central and eastern North America. Bundle up.
This part of western Canada (BC) is just at the freezing/thaw mark. 32 degrees F. Having spent all that time in the SW I haven't adjusted to the cold yet. With all the past weeks of heavy snow, the thawing is very dangerous and sets up avalanche conditions. Winter is not my favourite season. Generally, I'd say that majority of BC is normally warmer in winter than your mid-western states (Montana, Dakotas, etc) |

Here in Ohio it's not as bad as many of you (so far), but bad enough for me. I've said it before....I've lived in central Ohio all of my life and
never have got used to winter.
Stepped out the door this a.m. and got the morning paper. That's it for my outside activities for the day.

Its been a very cold start to winter here.
But compared to parts of the USA and Canada, its relatively mild. I don't even want to imagine what -20 feels like.

It is a bright and sunny 44 degrees here in NC and getting colder. A high of only 30 is predicted for Friday and a low of 8 for Friday night. Single digit lows
are rare in this area but we doing some extra winterizing and changing the furnace filters. Going to start a pot of stew Friday morning to help supplement the
heat. Thankfully we will not have to get out early Saturday morning. Everyone bundle up and stay warm , safe and dream of Vegas!

-6 this morning and we are told to expect wind chills of -24
Every winter I say that I feel like renting a U-Haul and load our possessions into it. I would take my snow shovel and fasten it to the front of the U-Haul. I would just keep traveling until someone pointed to the shovel on the front of the U-Haul and ask what is that, what do you use it for? And that is where we would decide to stay. Rounder Describing Las Vegas to someone who has never been there is like trying to describe the color purple to a blind man. |

Really cold here and the snow is still piling up. My boots come up almost to my knees and the snow is past that is much of my yard. Tired of digging out the
car and having to de-ice everything before we can go anywhere

It was -31 C here today at one point, ughhhhhhhhhhhhh......so cold that the salt doesn't melt the ice on the
highways and the 400 was a mess heading to work today (Ontario Canada). I've been working out of town all week and having to commute in treacherous
conditions.....sure will make me appreciate leaving for Aruba this weekend even more!

Just got back from my "snow trek". Darned cold and we got about 6" of snow last night. It's gonna get worse (colder & snow) here in
central Ohio before it gets better, and I had to stock up on groceries.
Sure wish I were with N & J right now. Jack |
