I usually arrive 8 am so I have the whole day, but the first night always seems to be spent downtown, whether I'm staying there or not. Drink, gamble, eat,
and watch people.

Very often we take a flight that arrives in Las Vegas in the late morning. If our room is ready we will unpack and settle in (I unpack, wife hits the slots!).
I then look up staff that I know and get my hugs and the latest skinny on who's doing what to who. There are a couple of Cocktail Girls that I tip well for
the trip right up front and they watch after my wife and myself!! I always check out what may be new and look for favorite slot machines. I then wander to
other Casinos and do the check-outs all over.
My sleeping habits don't change a heck of a lot in Las Vegas as we are on/in the same time zone. Early to bed and early to rise..I like mornings a lot! .........Sometimes I even will nap in the afternoon for an hour or so....

It seems we are arriving earlier and earlier with each trip- 8:40 am PST for this trip. Our first night in town we will gamble at home base to make a showing
but I have learned from experience to tread lightly with that activity as traveling exhaustion creeps up fast. I like to go up to the room and have coffee
while unpacking and setting up the room. We plan to order room service and have a light supper looking out at the lights of the city or strip, listen to a
little smooth jazz, and try our hardest to sleep. I absolutely love that feeling of butterflies, anticipation, and sheer childlike excitement of the first
night realization "We are in Vegas!"

JohnVegas wrote: Funny that you said that about not having a set plan. I was going through my mind what I want to do first next week and went through so many things. I know I shoudl book more than three nights but I get Vegas burn out pretty quick sometimes

Usually our only real set plan is where to eat upon arrival, the rest just kinda happens...

we usually arrive late afternoon, check in, gamble an hour, eat then gamble till we're tired. We almost always remain in the casino we're staying at
the first night, the next day we get up early, head to Paris for their breakfast buffet then take on the strip. We do tend to drink a little also, actually, a
little too much,
Lookin for some Hot Slots !

Considering it's Vegas we're talkin' about, I tend to go crazy from day 1 and it usually doesn't end until I'm on the plane heading back
home.
I like to arrive in Vegas mid-day, so I can get settled into my hotel before evening. I usually don't plan anything special for Day 1, but it often includes casino hopping, seeing what's changed on the strip since my last visit, checking out new places to eat, etc.

Envisioning my August 8th trip for 7 nights with my two wonderful sisters. We will arrive at our downtown hotel around 3:00 p.m. Yes, we are
staying at the Plaza. We are booked for $291 each which includes round trip direct airfare and seven nights. We are happy already. After unpacking our
luggage and laying the pj's on the bed, we will probably walk down to Main Street Station for some BJ and too many laughs (one of the sisters doesn't
get out too much). From there we will have to stroll through the Horseshoe to say hello to the remaining employees we know on a first name basis. El Cortez
will be next on the agenda where we will probably get very silly and cackle the night away. One stop through the Fremont before heading to bed. Guessing we
will hit the beds somewhere between 3-4:00 a.m. Luckily our pj's are waiting for us. Nine o'clock, we will be at the pool with coffee in hand.
Sounds great already.....
